For the transportation of various types of cargo, sea lines provide unified ISO containers. In the concentrated juice industry, strictly defined modifications are used depending on the required temperature regime and the type of packaging.
A fully enclosed, dust- and waterproof container with a rigid roof, side and end walls. Designed for the transportation of a wide range of general cargo. This is the main container type for transporting aseptically packed juice, since aseptics does not require a special temperature regime during transportation. It is available in 20 and 40 foot sizes (20-foot ones are used for juices).
A thermally insulated container equipped with a refrigeration unit capable of maintaining a set temperature inside (usually from -25°C to +25°C). The refrigeration unit is powered by the vessel's power system or the port terminal. Reefer containers are critically important for the transportation of frozen concentrated juices (for example, citrus ones), which must be transported at a temperature not higher than -18°C to prevent spoilage and fermentation.
It is a tank enclosed in a rigid metal frame with the dimensions of a 20-foot container. Designed for the transportation of bulk liquid cargo (liquids and liquefied gases). In tank containers, large batches of concentrated apple juice are sometimes transported "in bulk", bypassing the stage of filling into drums. This saves packaging, but requires special loading and unloading stations at the supplier's and recipient's plants.
